Join us for a special screening and Q&A with our very own Carolyn Laskow, featuring her award-winning documentary “Welcome to Kutsher’: The Last Catskills Resort” (2015, 72 min.). Kutsher’s Country Club was the last surviving Jewish resort in the Catskills — one of the legendary Borscht Belt hotels during its heyday. Family-owned and operated for over 100 years, Kutsher’s offers a window into a vibrant and now-vanished cultural world. Through a close-up look at its rise and fall, this film captures the spirit of the Dirty Dancing-era Catskills and preserves the memory of a uniquely American Jewish experience.
